Merry Banner

1. I love banners.  They are (super) trendy in the paper world and I love to incorporate them in my scrapbook pages and cards.
2. When Stampin' Up released the Perfect Pennants Die for the Big Shot, there wasn't even a second thought, it would be on my wish list.
3. I bought it right away....today was the first I've used it.  OOPS.

So why is another two reasons...
1. My upline is having a Holiday Stamp a Stack this weekend and I wanted to make something to display.
2. Stampin' Up is having a Big Shot contest for demonstrators to win free product....and who doesn't love free.

Here is my banner that I can't wait to display this holiday season

I LOVE how it turned out!  I chose River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, and Pool Party for my colors.  I used the largest pennant from the die and cut them from River Rock DSP.  I used some Soft Suede ink to sponge the edges.  All of the pennants are held together with Hemp Twine which I tied ribbon (various types, some retired but all in my color scheme) on in between each pennant.  On the ends I also tied some more ribbon and then used  Stampin' Up's clothes pins that I died using Real Red reinker.

Here's a more detailed look at each letter:
For this pennant I made a Real Red "lollie" which are super easy with the Stampin' Up score board.  I used a piece of Real Red DSP that measured 1" by 12".  For the center I added a Wild Wasabi Designer Button from the Holly Berry Bouquet collection tied with some Linen thread and a Pool Party M cut from the Simple Letter alphabet dies.

For this pennant I cut a Doily also from the Perfect Pennant Die from Wild Wasabi cardstock, versa marked Dot, Dot, Dot, and used Dazzling Diamonds to emboss.  The Real Red e is also from the Simple Letters die set.  I used the Flower Fusion sizzlet to create the flower and added a pearl accent.

For the first r I made another lollie from Pool Party DSP though this time it measured 1.5" by 12."  For the center I added a Real Red button from the Holly Berry Bouquet tied with linen thread.  The Holly is from the Winter Wishes Stitched Felt.  The berries were Cherry Cobbler and a little dark for my liking so I carefully cut them off and added two Real Red buttons.  The r is cut from Wild Wasabi card stock from the Simple Letters dies.

This pennant is much like the e, except I put a tag from the Lots of Tags sizzlet set which I sprayed with some Frost Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol, and added a Real Red glimmer brad.

Another lolly this time in Wild Wasabi DSP, I think it was 1.25" wide.  I added a Pool Party button from the Spice Cake collection tied with linen thread.

Thanks for looking...I'm sure I'll have to do another one for the next holiday.  Now to go clean my desk!

Out on a Limb...BOO!

I'm back with another challenge entry.  This one comes from Paper Players and it's a layout challenge.  Take a look:

I liked the clean and simple feel for it, so off to the craft room I went.  Here's what I came up with:

Instead of using three images for the main section, I spelled out "boo" using the Simple Letter dies.  It still has three (wink, wink)!  I cut the letters from both Olive Olive textured card stock and a piece of cardboard that comes with the Decor Elements.  This way the letters stand out a bit more.  On top of that I stamped and (patiently) cut out two images from the Out on a Limb set that will be available on September 1.  The polka dot paper is from the Frightful Sight DSP.  The layer behind that is Basic Black satin ribbon, layered with Old Olive 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  The gray piece of card stock is stamped with the cloud image from the set but then I sanded the edges and paper to give it a more worn look.

Thanks for looking!
