HSS-182 with Guest

I made this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments card a month ago because I grabbed the wrong sketch AND I had a little help!  My oldest daughter needed a birthday card for a friend and she helped me work on this one.  Here's the sketch:

Here is OUR work:

It's been a horrible winter!  Can you tell it was snowing out and we did--tried--an indoor photo?

She wanted the sentiment crooked!  The stamper in me tries not to look at it!  :)

She chose Rose Red and Midnight Muse as her colors.  The doily we inked up with Muse ink and sprinkled and heat set some dazzling diamonds.  We added in the gray so she could write her birthday message in the inside.

Be sure to go and check out the rest of the crew's work!  And play with us, remember you have 2 weeks!

AH!  I'm back.  I wasn't under the weather, then I made a card with the wrong sketch last time.  I think you'll see it in 2 weeks!  Until then, I have the latest color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  ....it was a tough one!

Colors I don't particularly call my favorites.  Together.  What to do?  I kept it simple and since I'm always short on birthday cards, here's what I came up with:

It's not perfect....it's home made!  I didn't quite get my embossing heated properly and I may have found this out by putting my thumb in those areas.  Oh, well.  Looks distressed.

Like I said, quite simple with these bold colors!

I'd love to see what you can come up with! Be sure to link up with us!!

Snaggletooth

I dislike like teeth, not all teeth, just really loose, need to come out teeth.  This is the subject of this week's layout:

While editing this photo, I realized I forgot to put button I took out onto the vertical squares.  It just hasn't been my week.

I'd love to see what you can do with Melissa's sketch:

Be sure to head over to Simple Sketches and check out the rest of the design team's layouts.

Sketch Stretch-HSS 178

It's sketch week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and I took some liberties.  First, here's the sketch:

I'm a scrapbooker.  I try to make cards, but it's just such a small work space.  I made a card.  Hated it.  SO, I thought I'd make a layout. And thankfully, I love it!

I kept the circles and the speech bubbles...only I added a few more! Anybody else remember stickers that were in the shape of bubbles with sayings in them that you could add to your photos...guess I've been scrapping for quite some time!

These kitties were behind our flower box on our front step one morning before school.  Our kitty was  meowing like a beast at the door!  I took the girls to school and when I returned they were gone.  We saw them occasionally the next few weeks and tried in vain to catch them with no luck.

The layout is very messy, which isn't me, but I've seen so many doodling layouts that I love so I decided to give it a whirl.  It came together quickly!  I used the circle framelits to cut my photos.  I mixed up Summer Starfruit reinker/alcohol and gave it some good flicks across my DSP.  I added some gray floss to give it some more texture.

The girls just came by and gave the layout two thumbs up!, and couldn't stop talking about this day.  This is really why I love scrapping.  Thanks for letting me stretch the sketch!!

Love U-HSS 177

It's late, it's been quite a day, so I'll make this short and sweet!  This week's Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge was one that made me scratch my brain.  Take a look:

Now individually...LOVE.  Together, I don't know (until I linked up my project!--be sure to go check out the others!)

I ended up making two (of the same) quite simple cards that will be given to my kiddos for Valentine's Day.

I made my own polaroid with a square framelit, because I forgot to put the new framelits on my order...insert big.fat.oops!

From there I made this little heart garland.  I was inspired by one of the Paper Pumpkins that had something like this with stars.  I used my alpha dies to make the U with some corrugated cardboard I saved from recycling and added a clip.

The background was a bit blah so I took out my favorite stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge and embossed some "splattering."

Super quick and I can't wait to put them in their backpacks on the 14th!
