This week's challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments was just that....a challenge. Take a look:
Now, I admit I thought about doing the whole pheasant thing, after all they are birds, but I thought that would be taking the easy way out. So after thinking, thinking, and thinking some more, here's what I came up with:
I went to my box craft store and picked up a spray of peacock feathers and tore off what I wanted. Then I took out a piece of textured Soft Suede...yep I'm hoarding-I love this color, and sprayed with a Champagne/rubbing alcohol mix to make it look shiny. Try and take a peek:
Trust me, in real life it's very sparkly. This is a great way to add some shine to plain card stock.
Here's another look at the lower corner:
I wanted the feathers and the picture to be the focus of the page, so I put a small strip of Garden Green DSP to journal on. I also tied off the feathers with a piece of lace that I rubbed over my Suede ink pad-too lazy to die.
I love the #. Years from now when Twitter is no longer, I'll have to explain, but for now I love adding them to pages.
Now head over and see what everyone else designed.--I know I'll be. I can't wait to see how they used the theme!
Oh my GOODNESS, I LOVE this!!! You glitter paper adds a nice wow but that bouquet of feathers, ADORE!! :) and I love your twitter hashtag too...I'm still getting used to twitter, haha! :) Great job on your page!!
ReplyDeletePure genius with the glitter spray! I am so glad you added a close up because the first picture doesn't do it justice. Love how you incorporated the theme into the journaling. What a great idea to add the feather too!
ReplyDeleteHave I told you lately that you're a GENIUS? And a SCRAPBOOKING WONDER? Probably! Your layout is just gorgeous...the feathers, shimmer, and the clever journaling. I am such a huge fan :) Take care! Erika
