Today's challenge for Hand Stamped Sentiments is a technique challenge....one I had never heard of! Take a look:
After a little research...what did we do before google?...off to my room I went. And after a bit, I have two cards to share today. Here's my first attempt:
I took this stamp from the set Button Buddies, one of my favorite sets. I stamped with Whisper White Craft ink and set it aside while I built the rest of my card. The color combo (Daffodil Delight and Old Olive) comes from our Color Coach-love that thing! Once I had that all done, I went back to color my image...only I didn't like how the yellow looked on the Basic Black card stock. So I added the buttons (which have a small strip of Daffodil Delight card stock "tied" in them). Here's a closer up view:
I attempted to use my White gel pen to trace the design in the vase...I think it's time for a new pen! Like I said, I love the card but I wasn't happy with the use of the technique, so onto card #2.
I already had this set on my desk and the cherry image caught my eye. Here's my second card:
Much better! Again I stamped the image and went to work on the rest of the card. Gingham just goes with cherries doesn't it? The pattern is made with Garden Green classic ink and card stock, brayer, and the Stripes embossing folder, I topped it off with a bit of Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon. Here's another closer view of the technique:
I'm so excited to have learned another technique. I can't wait to see what the other designers have come up with, and I'd love to see what you can do! Make sure you link your project to HSS so I can come check it out!
Your cards look so pretty! The cherries actually look juicy! And I love the button vase of flowers, too.

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great! The cherries look super cute and I love that even if things don't turn out like we expect...we can always add some buttons or something and save the day, right? :-)
