Hostess with the Mostess

Not really, but I struggle with post titles.  This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a technique challenge....and brought to you by none other than me :)  I admit I'm not much of a techie...craft techie either.  I chose paper pleating.  It's quick and simple, and can really create dimension on a card or layout.

Here's what I came up with:

So I admit, this looks nothing like I had planned...and I'm also noticing I forgot to adhere my title letters.  OOPS.  I worked ahead as I was on vacation last week and the early part of this one.  I edited and saved my pictures before I left.  Anyways...it was scrapping or packing and well time was running out.  Somewhere on my desk are letters that spell "Roller Girl."

It's a really simple layout, but I hope you  notice how it looks stepped up with the simple addition of the pleating.  Here's a side view:

Looks like I need to fix a pleat when I get back.  I had to pleat three sections of the Pink Pirouette to get my length.

I'd love to see what you can come up with, especially since I chose the technique.  And I promise not to be such a space cadet next week!

  2. So funny, your post and the caption on your page. Oh my...too funny. Love the vertical pleats and nothing is wrong with simplicity. Sometimes the picture (and caption) tell the whole story. Great job!

  4. LOVE your derby girl! She just send me into fits of giggles! I think your layout looks great, I love the layered pleats and that they're vertical. It makes it interesting and matches the stripes in her cutey patootey socks!
