Highs and Lows

I'll get to the highs and lows in a minute, but first lets check out this week's Dynamic Duo challenge...and it's a good one!

I don't know about you, but I was doing a happy dance when I saw these two in the color refresh.  I know I've said I'm not a pink girl, but I loved this shade and was sad to see it go.  Thankfully, it's back and will be around for some time!  While frantically looking through photos, I found this oldie but a goodie.  Here's my layout:

My oldest loved, LOVED to play dress up.  My youngest, not so much. Sometimes she would make her sister happy, but often times this was the result.  A dressed up frowning bride or princess.

I went and used my electronic cutter...I know, but I love a hexagon of late and I had a vision.  I used all sorts of DSP and even did some stamping and then cutting to get the polka dot and chevron patterns.  I used 'little" from the Fabulous Phrase set just above the Doll.  I always told the oldest that her sister wasn't her doll.

When the retired list came out this week, I was most devastated about the Color Spritzer.  I love that thing and will keep mine forever!  For this layout, I mixed up some reinker in my spray bottle, shook it, then carefully took the spray end out and gave it a little tap while holding it above my paper.  I love how the page turned out.

Okay, onto the Highs and Lows.

My high this week is I want to give a big shout out to Vicki Burdick.  She is a fellow DD designer and if you haven't seen her blog I have no idea what rock you are hiding under!  It was her birthday this week and I so wanted to participate in her birthday hop!....but, onto the Lows.

One low is this has been a week of Technology H-E-Double Hockey Sticks!  My *new* computer and camera have both given me quite the run around. In fact, you'll notice my watermark isn't the typical because I can't use my new computer I normal edit on because it has a connection issue, and the old computer I'm using now won't read my camera :/  Instead my card is on it's way to Vicki, and hopefully soon I'll share it on here when the computers are all fixed and happy again!

and sadly, this is my final project as a Dynamic Duo Designer.  I can't begin to explain how much Leslie and Anne Marie have given me by selecting me.  I'm biggest critic...and thankfully I've learned that we all are!  I was BEYOND fearful of putting my creations out there.  I scrap my girls and they mean the world to me and to have the thought of someone saying something negative about a layout scared me.  Through this blog, I've "met" really great TALENTED people who I was able to call my fellow designers.  They have inspired me, and have shared the most kindest words.  Thank you all ladies!

So next week I'll be back on the other side, anticipating the two colors.  I so look forward to seeing the new team!

  1. Super sweet, love the colors this week and I love all your hexagons! So happy that we got to now each other these past 6 months on the DT.

  2. Hi Bobby, loving the hexagons on your layout, that works really well. I wanted to just thank you for inspiring me to get back into scrapbooking, seeing your designs each week has given me some incentive to get back into it again. I have really enjoyed our time together over the past 6 months on the Design Team and look forward to seeing more of your great designs in the future.

  3. Beautiful layout. Love the hexagons and how fresh it all looks. She doesn't look happy does she but it's a fab story to scrap! x

  4. Bobbie, I have loved seeing your creations every week - especially how you always have the perfect photo(s) to work with our palettes! You've given my brain a bit of a jog to get scrapping (did 14 layouts this weekend!) It's been great being on the team with you - I'll be by to visit your blog often.

  5. Bobbie, YOU are such an inspiration with your awesome projects and fabulous layouts! It has been an absolute honor working alongside you over the past 6 months at Dynamic Duos! Thank you for being a part of the Design Team!! Sending you a big HUGE hug!! You are awesome! :)

  6. What a wonderful layout Bobbie! Love the hexagons (how cool that we will soon have a punch to do that eh?!) and I know what you mean about Blushing Bride - it's my favourite pink! It's been SUCH fun being on the DD team with you - your scrapbook pages have really inspired me to do a little more of this and you've given me lots of great ideas!

  7. Thanks for a marvelous posting! I definitely enjoyed reading it, you happen to be a great author.

I will be sure to bookmark your blog and will
come back at some point. I want to encourage that you
continue your great job, have a nice evening!

  8. Oh gosh, Bobbie. I know we are all so critical of ourselves, but I wish you knew how fantastically creative you are and how lovely your creations are! Your layouts are always awesome and always make me smile. And your cards are just as beautiful. I know how you feel, though - I was terrified that first week when I saw that my card would always be the first one anyone saw on the DD blog!! Oh my heck, talk about insecure. :-S I'm sad to say I dreaded that part a bit. But I have had the time of my life with all you talented ladies at Dynamic Duos this past 6 months. I'm sending you hugs and best wishes! Keep up the good work! ;-)

  9. Oh - this layout is gorgeous, too BTW! Can't believe I forgot to comment on it. ACK! I love the hexagons, and that adorable photo. LOL. We are having some sister issues here with our 2 daughters who are 3 years apart in age, so this layout gave me a little giggle as I thought about how sisters can be. ;-) Beautiful job! (as always...)

  10. You have created another great layout. You have been such an inspiration to me. I hope to someday soon have the time to start scrapbooking again. You have been such a joy to work with the past 6 months.

  11. First of all, this picture is completely adorable! Second, the hexegons were a perfect hip and trendy right now! Third, you have been so much fun to work with the past six months! I have enjoyed seeing your pictures, reading about your girls and being inspired by your amzing work! I will certainly continue to follow you!!!!

  12. Great layout! It was a great pleasure to be in the Dynamic Duos Design Team for the past 6 months! Thanks for your loving and kindness friendship!
