Cajun Craze Snowman

So I headed over to the Inkspirations challenge site the other day and happened upon these colors.

My heart did a little happy dance....until that cajun craze butterfly hit my eyes.  I have to say this isn't my most played with color, but I always like how cards that use it turn out.  This is the best part about participating in challenges, you get the dust off things you may never use!

One of my favorite sets from the new Idea Book and Catalog is Snow Much Fun.  It's adorable and I can see me using it on some scrapbook pages this winter also!  I knew I wanted to use this set with the Crumb Cake card stock, and I like how it's not a typical red and green card.  So here is the card, I'll meet you after the picture to explain some more.

So I "borrowed" the layout from a card in our monthly magazine we get as a Stampin' Up demonstrator....love that they give us such amazing inspiration.  The snowman is stamped with Staz On and then I used my blender pen and inks to color.  I sponged and spritzed Soft Suede onto the Crumb Cake card stock pieces.  The larger Crumb Cake panel is embossed with the Dots folder, however I used the back of the pattern.  The ribbbon is gathered with twine and a Cajun button and I also tied on a vintage tag that I stamped "merry" from the Pennant Parade set-love when you discover a word that fits perfectly! My snowman is "floating" but I have some "snow" coming from Utah that I can't wait to add to the card....just a fun new item that is coming this September in our Holiday Mini.  PS-the catalog is to DIE for!

Thanks for looking!
