Melting Heart

It's dessert week with the Dynamic Duos and I'm over the moon with this page!  Take a look at the challenge colors:

I found the perfect photo, but it was a bit busy color-wise.   I edited it to black and white but then I thought I lost the moment of the photo...so with my little editing paintbrush I colored in the nose and hat.  (Hope that doesn't get me in trouble.)  Here's my layout:

I hope you're beginning to learn who I am if you are new to my blog.  Yes I love a CAS layout...and a banner!

This is a photo of my youngest last March.  You would think being in Minnesota we would have lots of snow, but last year just wasn't our year.  We did get a good snow fall late February and it was perfect snowman snow.  Slowly he began to melt, and she just kept trying to add his pieces back onto him.  She really is a caring sole!

I started with Marina Mist card stock layered with the yummy First Edition DSP.  The letters are from an old alphabet set that I stamped onto Vanilla card stock.  I love the look of not perfect sizes.  The "heart" banner is from the Timeless Type dies that are also retired.   I added some Silver Dazzling Details.  The space of the Marina Mist polka dot DSP threw me a bit, so I just added another banner with a heart, pin and ribbon.  I had planned on using a Snowman stamp set in the lower right corner, but then decided to let the photo snowman steal the show.  I found the heart and the sentiment on the photo in a retired, but loved, Valentines set.    I finished by stitching with my sewing machine just to add some flair.

Be sure to head over and see what the rest of the team has designed for your viewing pleasure.  We'd love for you to play along!
