I was happy to see crumb cake, but so saffron and real red threw me off. I admit, I rarely mix color families...just doesn't seem right to mix a bright with a subtle, kinda like stripes with polka dots. I love how challenges are letting me play with all my "stuff." This stamp set, Because I Care, is a hostess set that I opened for the first time today.
Here's my card:
I don't know if I'm in love with it...seems sort of "old school" McDonald's to me but I gave it my best! There are some great cards from the designers, hop over and check them out! Debbie and I used the same Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder for our background.
Recipe:
Cardstock: So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Very Vanilla (I know, I traded for the white.)
Ink: Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Real Red
Stamps: Because I Care, Tiny Tags
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Emboss Folder, Jewelry Tag Punch, Hemp Twine, Subtles Buttons, Real Red 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Sponge
This is just lovely! I did crack up on the comment about McDonald's. Too funny. But your card looks nothing like a McDonald's!! I love the ribbon with the button and the way you popped up the flower part! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
ReplyDeleteI know what you're saying about challenges. I do the opposite though. I check out the design team just so I don't use a stamp or idea someone else used. Your card is so pretty. Great treatment with the ribbon and button.
ReplyDeleteI think you used the colours perfectly. So clean and crisp - a great design. Thanks for playing at CCMC this week.
ReplyDeleteToo funny, I don't like to look at the other designers work until I'm done with mine, too! Beautiful card...I like it! Thanks for playing along with us on Create with Connie and Mary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie & Mary challenge!
ReplyDeleteThat stamp is so pretty in yellow! I also love how you used the striped ribbon on this. Thanks for playing along this week on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Great job with a tough color combo
