I love the look of rosettes....I don't even mind the trouble of making them since it got a lot easier with our new die....I just don't know how pages that have them will go into a book. Oh well, I still really like how today's page turned out. Take a look:
Now for the details:
Page is Crumb Cake (Kraft) cardstock. I layered on four 2.5" X 11 pieces of retired DSP. (I'm trying to use up some older paper as I have a bit of a paper problem!) The rosette is Basic Gray and is made using our Designer Rosette die and three 4.5" X 11 pieces of card stock. I love the scallop, but I dressed it up more by adding some pearls in the spaces. The detail along the picture is a piece of So Saffron cardstock layered with a piece of Basic Gray that has been punched using the Scallop Trim Border punch (as it copies the rosette) and some Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon. I tied on a bow, I used the Heart and Bracket die (retired) and some corrugated cardboard (saved from trash) to pin on a heart. (The pin is from my stash, as I keep forgetting to order our hat pins from the Occasions catalog.) I stamped the "L" from the Letter It set with So Saffron ink and stamped "love" from the Fabulous Phrases set in Basic Gray ink. This worked perfect as my daughter's name starts with L! I cut this out and then tied it on the pin with some twine. I then added some butterflies from Beautiful Wings embosslit. They are So Saffron, not sure why they appear to be Daffodil Delight.
Here's another picture of the bottom detail:
These colors were inspired by the color challenge over at CR8FN. Luckily their challenges are open for two weeks so it gives me some more time to get my ideas together. Check them out if you haven't!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!
