It's supposed to be 52 here in MN today, and I can't wait! It's been such a weird winter, little snow and mild, so we've been spoiled. This week's challenge over at The Paper Players is Spring has Sprung, perfect for a day like today...hopefully, if the weather people are right!
When I think spring, I think about no longer hibernating and getting outside more....with that comes bikes! Our girls love riding around the block, so I grabbed some pictures of my youngest from last spring trying to learn to ride a bike with not training wheels. I also noticed I could incorporated a color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary....a two for one!
Take a look at my page and see how I combined the challenges:
It always makes me giddy when I find photos that go with color challenges and I don't have to turn them to black and white images. The page is pretty simple, but I really like how it turned out. The 12 X 12 is Island Indigo textured card stock. I'm still on the fence with this color, it's not my go to blue. I punched a bunch of the Decorative Label from Wild Wasabi card stock to create my border on each side of the So Saffron DSP, which is from the Subtles DSP paper packs. I added a Top Note die cut for my journal area as I thought it went well with the punch. I used my Indigo marker to write some notes and tied on some Indigo ruffled ribbon for no reason other than I love that stuff. The title along the bottom is done using the Letter It and Number It sets. Another one of my go to's! I stamped using Versa Mark ink on Indigo card stock and then heat embossed with White embossing powder. I strung some Indigo bakers twine through the letters/number and added some Clothes Pins to each end.
A closer up:
I wish I would have snapped the picture from the other way. The numbers in the Number It set have a "NO" in the corner, making it perfect for the title "ATTEMPT NO 1". Sorry it's hard to tell in the larger photo with the twine.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look....now to go enjoy the sunshine!
What a wonderful layout and being a fellow Minnesotan I am loving this spring weather here today.

ReplyDeleteBobbie, your page is fabulous. I, too, live in Mn and it was 63 in my neck of the woods yesterday. Soon, I will be watching the little girl across the road on her bike... your page really reminded me of that. So glad you joined the paper Players this week
