Create with Connie and Mary Anniversary Card

Create with Connie and Mary had this cake for their inspiration this week:

CCMC March

Here's my card:

My eyes went to the stripes then to the braid.  I pulled out my Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, and Crumb Cake Paper.  My first idea was scallops with stripes but then I also liked the swirls in the bottom layer. I went to get my Finial Press embossing folder, but it must be with my craft room monster right now as I couldn't find it, so I grabbed my Vintage Wallpaper folder instead. I took my Marina Mist ink and rubbed it over the folder so the ink would be pressed into the Whisper White cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot.  I wanted a distressed look so I ran my bone folder over the edges and rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the cardstock. From there, I turned my stripes into horizontal by using Marina Mist 1 1/4" ribbon and scrunched it over some sticky strip. I added one of my Crumb Cake big buttons and then topped it off with a Happy Anniversary banner.

Thanks for looking!
