So.In.Love!

I could not be more excited to share this scrapbook page with you!--I can't stop staring at it!  I saw this page on Pinterest and I loved the layout and all the details in the blocks.  I pinned it hoping to do a page like it in the future.  When I saw this week's colors at Colour Q, I have to admit  I was a bit stumped.  I headed to my pictures and found one that was perfect, but with only one picture I was at a loss how to pretty up the rest of the 12 X 12 page....until I remembered those lovely blocks.  I did a LOT of sketching and pre-planning for this page so I didn't mess up the size of the blocks and had a good balance of color.  First, here are the colors this week:

And now for the big reveal:

I love how it turned out, and I know I will be doing this layout again!, mostly because my oldest daughter is wondering when I'm going to do a page with her on it. Sisterly competition!  Here are some closer views of the blocks and the details of each.

Top Left:

The DSP is from the Big Top paper pack.  I wrapped Espresso bakers twine around the bottom.  Next I used the Letter It stamp set with Pumpkin ink to stamp the U and then used the Fabulous Phrases set and Espresso ink for the "love".  This is cut out and popped up with dimensionals.

Top Middle:

The Lucky Limeade paper is from the In Color Paper Pack.  The detail is the Round Tap punch first stamped with Espresso ink and both the Perfect Punches set and Notes and Details set then punched out.  I finished it with a Pumpkin cord brad (retired.)

Top Right:

Sorry for the photo, snow and wind here today has pushed me to photo elsewhere.  The "clouds" are the top of the Cupcake punch and punched from textured Whisper White cardstock and then popped up with dimensionals.  The butterflies are the Beautiful Wings embosslit.  The "best kind, day" are stamped with Espresso ink and the Fabulous Phrases set.  I used my Pumpkin marker to fill in a couple of words.

Middle Left:

Here is my journal spot.  I stamped "just a little note" with Lucky ink from a retired set called Apple Blossoms.  The lines are stamped with Espresso ink from the Notes and Details set.  I used my Pumpkin marker to journal. Then I added a library clip that I tied some Pumpkin fibers to and a Pumpkin heart from the Owl punch.

Middle Middle:

Here are three out of five of my favorite hunters.  My older daughter and elderly dog are missing.  The photo is layered on a piece of Pumpkin DSP from WAY back, if I had to guess I'd say 2009? when I first fell in love with Stampin' Up products.  I used the (retired) corner punch to add a bit more detail.

Middle Right:

So I planned to have a Pumpkin square but I admit this isn't my favorite orange and it was a bit "loud" in my opinion.  I took my Stripe embossing folder and brayered white craft ink onto the folder, placed my paper on the ink, and ran it through my Big Shot.  Then I carefully took the paper off, re-brayered the folder, turned the cardstock 90 degrees and ran it through again, this is what gives it the checkered pattern.  The Espresso banner is stamped with white craft ink and the Dot Dot Dot stamp and then embossed with White embossing powder.  The small Daffodil banner is also stamped with this stamp but with Pumpkin ink.  The large Daffodil banner is stamped with Espresso ink and the Solid Stripes stamp as is the White banner will Lucky ink, though the stamp is turned 90 degrees.  I used my mat pack and pierced some holes and then quick added some stitches with some twine.

Lower Left:

I love this square because I used a new technique I saw over at the Pink Buckaroo Design blog.  I used a stamp from the Apple Blossom set with White Craft ink, then to get it that lovely shadow, you use your Versa Mark MARKER and trace around the image.  How Easy!?!?, and I love the effect.  I added some Daffodil and Pumpkin buttons that were tied using Espresso bakers twine.

Lower Middle:

This square uses Pumpkin DSP from the Brights DSP pack.  Then I used my Eyelet border punch on some Espresso cardstock.  I cut it wide and then layered on a stripe of Daffodil cardstock that had been punched with the Scallop Edge Punch, and then a piece of Lucky cardstock that had been punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

almost done!

Again, not sure why the photo is so blurred.  SORRY! The title is a play of words.  Trace Adkins, a country singer, has a song titled "She Thinks We're Just Fishing" about a dad and daughter spending the day together fishing and while she thinks they are just fishing, they are also making wonderful memories.  I have to give a BIG kudos to my husband for coming up with this!  I used a tag from the Lots of Tags Sizzlit Die Set, tied it around using Lucky bakers twine, and then added a Pumpkin flower using the Itty Bitty Punch Set and a Daffodil brad..  The writing is my own using my Espresso marker and "Hunting" is from the Billboard Sizzlit Strip.  The dots are from the Owl Punch.

WOW!  There you have it! Thanks for stopping and looking at my page!
