I spy a hot dog...

Each Christmas I find myself scrapbooking three calendars; for my mom and each of my brothers.  After completing the first few months in each, I get a little creativity challenged, and look for my children's help.  This photo was in both of my brother's calendars and I couldn't come up with anything.  My oldest suggested "I spy a hot dog" and that was the title I went with.  Flash forward months, and after scrapping this page she still says "I spy a hot dog."...which makes me wonder if she'll remember that years down the road looking at this page.  Take a look:

I did my best with the photo.  It's gray and rainy today and I usually photo outside.  I started with a Crumb Cake 12 X 12.  I layered on a piece of Whisper White.  My photo is a 5 X 7 and I chose to add some layers above it.  From top to bottom:  Night of Navy DSP (packs), Pumpkin scallop punched, journaling with my Navy marker, Real Red DSP (retired), Green piece is a retired color I found in my stash that I don't even remember the name-but it matched my brother's shirt, and Elegant Eggplant DSP (packs.)

I did the title on the side for a change.  The "the LOVE of an" is from the Billboard strip.  Love is punched from our Real Red glimmer paper.  LOVE! Glitter with no mess, the other words from Night of Navy card stock.  Uncle is various retired chipboard letters.  I colored with my Navy marker than took my Dot, Dot, Dot stamp and inked it up with Versa Mark and then heat embossed Dazzling Diamonds. I then added some chipboard hearts and took out my sewing machine and stitched around the layer.

Thanks for looking...now I wonder how long it is before my brothers get wind of this...
