Rainbow Butterflies

It's been a bit of a break on the blogging, but it has been unseasonably warm here in MN so I have been outside enjoying it with the family rather than playing in my craft room.  I did however get a CARD made for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week.  Now, I'm not really a card maker for the fun of it...only when I need one.  I would rather create a scrap page because I have more area to work with, but here's is this week's challenge:

No matter how hard I tried, I could not come up with a scrap page.   Here's my card:

I remembered that our First Edition DSP had writing about butterflies so I thought I'd make a rainbow of butterflies.  My card is Very Vanilla base  (I photoed on black to get it to show better.) with a layer of Basic Black, and then a layer of the DSP.  I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to make the butterflies.  I chose the following cardstock colors: Real Read, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, and Elegant Eggplant.  I added a pearl to each one and then I pulled the fibers from the 1 1/4" Black ribbon and tied on a "friends" sentiment from the Tiny Tag set.

I'm really happy with the outcome, and am glad I stepped out of my scrap comfort zone.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!
